S3Corp. Team Trip to the Mekong Delta
The S3Corp. team recently spent three meaningful days on a trip across the Mekong Delta. This journey gave the team a refreshing experience while encouraging connection and cooperation. Through a variety of cultural visits, local explorations, and moments of shared laughter, team members returned with stronger unity and many unforgettable memories.
Exploring Nature and Local Culture
The first day began with a fulfilling breakfast. Energized and ready, the team joined a guided tour to explore two famous river islets: Con Phung and Con Dua. Moving through lush green canals on small canoes, the group enjoyed fresh, sweet coconut while surrounded by the calm nature of the region. This peaceful ride offered a close look at the simple life in the Mekong Delta, where boats are part of daily transport and tall coconut trees sway in the breeze.
Another destination on the route was Mahatup Pagoda in Soc Trang. Known for its long history, this 400-year-old temple impressed the team with its architecture and tranquil setting. What captured the most attention, however, were the thousands of bats living in the trees around the temple. Watching these creatures rest during the day left the team both amazed and curious. The visit became a key highlight of the day, offering a quiet moment for appreciation of tradition and nature.
Cultural Insights in Bac Lieu
The journey continued to Bac Lieu, where the team visited the famous villa of Cong Tu Bac Lieu. This man, known for his luxurious lifestyle in the early 1900s, became a legendary figure after reportedly burning money to boil beans. The villa stands as a reminder of a past era, offering both history and local storytelling. The team enjoyed walking through the halls of the house, imagining life at a different time.
The group also stopped by Tac Say Church and other nearby locations. While not long visits, each place gave a short but meaningful look at the life and spirit of people in the area.
A Taste of the Delta and Forest Walk
On the following day, the team slowed the pace and focused on food and rest. Meals were based on fresh local ingredients. The group enjoyed dishes prepared from fish, frog, and eel, all caught from nearby rivers and fields. These meals highlighted the natural richness of the region and gave the team a real taste of Delta life.
Later, the team visited U Minh forest, a large wetland area filled with thick vegetation and local wildlife. One special stop in the forest was the Bee Farm, where the group learned about local honey production and forest ecology. While the walk was peaceful, it also came with a surprise. Some of the women in the team got stung by insects. Although unexpected and a bit painful, the moment turned into laughter and became one of the most talked-about stories of the trip.
Floating Market and Team Spirit
On the final day, the team joined a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, one of the most active in the Mekong Delta. Watching villagers trade goods from boat to boat gave the team a better understanding of how life flows with the river. Early morning scenes of fruits, vegetables, and daily supplies exchanged in a lively but organized manner captured the essence of local commerce.
Through this trip, the Board of Management (BOM) team of S3Corp. found valuable time to reflect, share, and connect. Away from desks and meetings, the team strengthened bonds through shared challenges and joys. Group activities, spontaneous laughter, and new discoveries created an atmosphere where collaboration and understanding could grow naturally.
Three days together was the precious opportunity for BOM team to increase engagement, create close – knit relationship and strengthen the team spirit. Furthermore, by taking this trip, team had a chance to explore local life through exciting activities and discovered the beauty of the North Vietnam.
The Mekong Delta team trip proved valuable not just as a journey through one of Vietnam’s iconic regions, but as a platform for unity and growth. By discovering nature, culture, and each other in new ways, the S3Corp. BOM team left the Delta with stronger engagement and renewed energy.
